Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section) is a dual 2-lane primary distributor road linking Northeast New Territories with Kowloon and Tsuen Wan. In order to cope with the continuous increase of traffic demand due to the existing, committed, and planned developments, widening of Tai Po Road to a dual 3-lane carriageway together with traffic improvement and road re-construction works at Sha Tin Rural Committee Road is recommended by Transport Department.
The Works under this Contract comprise two Packages:
Package 1
- To widen the existing Tai Po Road between Sha Tin Rural Committee Road near Sha Tin Plaza and Fo Tan Road near Man Wo House of Wo Che Estate.
Package 2
- To construct noise enclosures and barriers along Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section) between Scenery Court and Wo Che Estate and Fo Tan Road in Sha Tin.
Mannings (Asia) Consultants Ltd is commissioned by the Main Contractor, China Harbour-China Railway First Group-Zhen Hua Engineering JV, to act as the Independent Traffic Consultant to undertake the design of all Temporary Traffic Management Scheme (TTMS) as well as traffic monitoring for the Works under the Civil Engineering Development Department Contract No. NE/2017/05 Road Widening and Retrofitting Noise Barriers on Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section).
