The North District Hospital (NDH) is a district general hospital serving the population of the New Territories East Cluster. The Leighton – China Railway First Group Joint Venture (NDHJV) has been awarded the HK$4.3 billion NDH expansion project by the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. This project involves the construction of the main works for a new acute block, which includes a 20-storey structure with a construction floor area of 380,000 sqm, a single basement level and a mezzanine floor, and various external and landscaping works.
Mannings has been appointed by NDHJV to provide steelworks design services for this expansion project. The scope of our work includes the design of steel platforms located at various floors of the new building block, as well as the design of a covered walkway, link bridge, metal fences, and hoisting beams. We prepare design submissions for the Project RSE and Independent Checker to review and approve. In addition, we provide BIM services for the structural steelworks to facilitate the coordination of site works between the contractor and the project team.
